4 Reasons Why Technology Is Important For Education

9:04 PM

Hi guys! Again, I'm sorry that this is late. My weekends are usually super packed so for now on, if I don't post on Sunday, I'll probably have one on Monday or on Tuesday. Now, let's get on with this week's topic.

1. The Internet Holds A Lot Of Useful Information

We have so much data on the internet and some of it can be be useful. Google itself uses 850 TB (1 TB = 1 024 GB). That's a lot of information so why not use it while we're in school? For example: if you need a definition but don't have a dictionary with you, you can just search it up online. Or if you need to translate a word, just go on google translate (although google translate can be quite useless sometimes). Just remember to use trustworthy sources. Wikipedia is NOT a trustworthy source. It can give you basic information but don't take it too seriously. Anyone can just write ridiculous stuff on the page.  PS: Google scholar can help you write essays.

2. Students Can Have Access To Textbooks That Are Constantly Updated

Sometimes, there are changes or discoveries that happen in life that can minorly or majorly change what you're learning. With digital copies, you can update the textbook quicker than paper copies since the textbooks would need to be printed out again.

3. It's Good For The Environment

Research shows that students use more or less 833 papers each year. So for an entire school year, that leads to 9 996 pieces of paper. That's a lot of paper which means countless tress are being cut down to fulfill these needs. However, there is a solution. Teachers can use digital copies instead of paper as much as they can to save those trees.

4. Students Will Be More Interested In Class

Let's face it, in this generation we love technology. How could we not? Technology is wonderful when used right. I think I speak for almost everyone when  I say that I like learning more when the information is presented in a more creative way such as a power point with lots of visual aids or a informative video or documentary than when the teacher is talking and I have a sheet in front of me. Also, if the student is absent for the day, maybe you could have a google classroom or a website where everything the he/she can catch up with everything that they missed while they were gone.

That's it for today! I hope that you liked this post. This is the last week of the month which means that the school theme is over. Next week, or should I say next month, I'll be back with a new fresh theme and great articles.

Have a nice week guys!
