Tiny Star The Do's And Don'ts Of High School - Survive This World With Me

The Do's And Don'ts Of High School

11:21 AM

Ah, high school... It can be great, it can be adequate and it can absolutely horrible. I don't want you guys to be living a dreadful 4 years of your life so I'm going to share with you a few do's and don'ts of high school.

Do Pay Attention In Class

I know you've heard this a lot all your life, but it's true.  If you don't pay in class, then it's as if you weren't even there in the first place. Plus, most of the time, everything that your teacher says will be on the test. If you have a hard time paying attention, try looking at the teacher while she talks or take notes. Participating in class can also help.

Do Make Friends

Being a teenager can suck sometimes so it can help to have a few buddies that help you up when you crash down. It will also make things way easier when you're in class and your teacher asks you to get in groups (I've been in this situation before and it was horrible. Don't be like me). Having study parties is a great way to study. Inviting a few friends over to help each other out can be very promising.  You not only get varied views, insights and information but also more motivation to study.

Do Learn Stuff Outside Of School

Yes, at school you do learn plenty of things that you'll use in later life but there are many others that they just don't teach you. Cooking, investing your money, basic first aid. Those are just examples of things you have to learn outside of school but are essential in life. There are tons of websites and classes where you can learn about these kinds of things so what are you waiting for? Enrich your brain.

Do Study Even If You Don't Have A Test

Studying everyday even if it's just for 30 minutes is very important. Sometimes, you forget things you learned in class and you need a little reminder. It would also be a great chance for you to ask your teacher questions if you don't understand something. You can even invite your friends over a couple of times and make if fun!

Don't Date

You can do whatever you want, but I would advise you not to date. First of all, dating is a huge time commitment and you probably won't have enough time for it. Plus, there's a low chance that your high school sweetheart will become something serious since usually at our age, we don't really know what love is. We just experience infatuation.

Don't Get Caught Up In Drama

High schoolers are hungry for drama. I guess that it's a way for us to stay entertained at school. However, it can hurt your friends and other people if they find out that you started a rumour or if you passed it on. Drama is very tiring so don't hangout with people who love it.

Don't Care Too Much About Being Popular

I hope that this doesn't contradict what I said about making friends. I think that in high school, we should make friends without trying too hard on being popular. After all, you're at school to learn so that you can make it somewhere in life. Plus, in a few years, most of the people you met at school won't be important in your life.

Don't Drop Out Of School

I know sometimes it can be very hard to come to school every day but don't drop out. Without education, you can't really get a decent paying job. No matter how much you hate school, just remember that you are an important person and it would be horrible if you don't get a full education.

I hope that you guys liked this post. Remember that this month, my theme is school. If you liked this, then tune in at my post next Sunday for something simular.
